Thank you for your interest in learning more about The Tethered World. Due to the sensitive secrets revealed in my novel, it is necessary for me to conceal my identity from angry Trolls and Dark Dwarves that may decide to retaliate. They are not good sports when it comes to their cryptic deeds being brought to light. Nor do they appreciate my chronicling their defeat at the hands of the Gnomes et al.
But I'm super excited that you stopped by for a visit and would love to hear how you enjoyed the adventures that Sadie Larcen lived to tell. Feel free to leave a comment (scroll to the bottom) and I'll try my bestest to get back to you soon!

So . . . a little about me: Heather FitzGerald.
I'm the kind of person that floats off into the realm of "what if" pretty easily. "What if toys DO come to life when we're not looking?" "What if I DO have the secret code on my receipt to win $1,000,000 from this company's website?" "What if there were special creatures that lived in the Garden of Eden and they STILL exist?" Those are some pretty exhilarating possibilites, don't you think? These ideas might be good fodder for a book :)
Though some might call me strange, there are four someones that call me Mom, and one special someone that calls me his wife. If it wasn't for the support of my family, The Tethered World would still be awaiting its great unveiling. Thanks to four kids that I was/am privileged to homeschool (and spend HOURS reading to) and one handsome Mississippi Man who bought me my own Macbook a few Christmases ago as a show of his belief in me, The Tethered World was born!
Though my family and I now reside in the great country—er—state of Texas, I grew up in Orchards, Washington, the setting of The Tethered World (when not actually IN the Tethered World). Haystack Rock, Beacon Rock and even Burgerville are places I know and love (and miss!). A few characters in my novel are based on real people (I may divulge that information at a later time) and most of my characters and places are named after derivatives of friends' names—used or jumbled or combined in some way (though no resemblance to the actual person is implied in such cases, I should add).
I am huge fan of C.S. Lewis and (of course!) his Narnia series. I also love his works in Christian apologetics. He's one of the top-five "gotta meet 'em when I get to heaven" guys. I also love the Gregor the Overlander series by Suzanne Collins and The Wingfeather Saga from Andrew Peterson (who also records some of my favorite music).
Though I've just begun working on Book Two of The Larcen Family Chronicles, I also teach ballet at Travis Academy of Fine Arts (a fine art school for, oh...about 900 homeschoolers) and love to decorate, cloud watch, and drink iced lattes. I absolutely love the beach, though I do not live by one here in north Texas. Mountains are a close second.
Oops! I almost forgot two more "someones" that should be mentioned. Both call me daughter. My mother (a.k.a. "Joanie") who continues to believe her daughter can do ANYTHING (I can't imagine WHY she still is convinced of this...), and my father who went to heaven in 2002. He also passed on his "what if" gene, his artistic abilities, and his long legs and large-ish nose. Thanks Mom and Dad :)
